As of mid-2005, Tony is at work on a number of projects. We feature two of them here. CORPS CORPS is an experimental short narrative film to be directed by writer, producer and musician Tony Babinski and performer and creator Jesko Von Den Steinen. The film tells the story of a group of white-collar workers struggling for individual expression under the weight of corporate conformity and indifference. Corps is an attempt to tell a human story grounded in every day experience through a new mixture of contact dance, physical theatre, and circus arts. The film will feature performers from Montreal’s esteemed Les Septs Doigts de la Main (“The Seven Fingers”), who are currently staking out new ground in the theatrical presentation of the theatre arts for audiences across the world. It is to be choreographed by Jesko Von Den Steinen and Liam Steel, the latter of England’s groundbreaking DV-8 Dance and Theatre Company. As such, the film will create a unique opportunity for international co-operation between European and Canadian artists at the very forefront of artistic creation. The film has been funded by Bravo!FACT and will be shot in October 2005.
