Current Projects:

Since the release of “Music on the mtl/ART project” in 2000, Tony has been involved in several music projects. Some streaming samples are included here, with Tony’s notes.

American Highway:

“In 2000, I began writing and recording songs for a follow-up CD. I was hoping to amass material enough to support live, as a solo performer if I had to — something I couldn’t do with the music from mtl/ART. I wrote ‘American Highway after spending three weeks driving around the U.S. Southwest. After 911, it struck me as prescient, though I thought ‘I could never perform this for audiences in the states, it would be too hurtful’. By 2005, changes introduced by the current administration have actually spun the song’s prescience in a new direction. Sounds serious for a three-minute blues rock excursion, but there you go.

Robert Marchand produced this, and plays bass and lead guitar, and he programmed the drums. I play rhythm guitar, harmonica, and attempt to sing.

We’ll put this out some day”.

Basia:

“Robert and I have been working as a unit on a project called Three Mind Blend. We provided this song as incidental music for a Québecois children’s film called L’Incomparable Mademoiselle C. Bob wrote and played the music and asked me to write something in Polish, for scenes taking place in a café. I don’t speak a word, but my cousin Alec Gieyztor helped me turn English lyrics into ‘Polish’. Apparently, I mispronounce it so badly it’s unrecognizable as any language. But the feelings are heartfelt.”
